HD Brows Guide

Finding the right brow shape for your face

Brows form the frame of the face. Therefore, make sure that your eyebrows
are completely customised to you and your facial features. The perfect eyebrow shape for you can transform your entire face - it lifts the eye area, emphasises your natural facial features and gives you a more youthful appearance.

It seems easy to decide on a style you like and then wear it, but bushy eyebrows Cara Delevingne style or a high arch Jourdan Dunn style may not be the perfect eyebrow shape for you. Whether you need to regrow over-plucked arches or shape eyebrows that are too bushy, here's the ultimate guide to the best eyebrow shapes for your face shape.

What shape is your face?

Round

A round face shape can be recognised by a soft, curved chin. The cheekbones are the widest part of the face, with the face being almost as wide as it is long.

Rounded brows make a round face appear even rounder. To emphasise a round face, brows should be soft and slightly arched. Adding height at the arch and length at the ends creates the illusion of a longer face.

Oval

With an oval face, the forehead is not much wider than the chin. They have a soft chin and a slight curve on the sides of the face.

If you have an oval face, most eyebrow styles will actually suit you. To best emphasise your eyebrows, avoid making them too angular. Keep the features soft to emphasise your facial features.

Square

Square face shapes are strong and defined, with straight facial sides and an angular jawline.

For your eyebrows to flatter you perfectly, they should be angular so that they don't conflict with your natural face shape. A lifted arch and elongated tail help to elongate the face. You may find that a flat brow emphasises the square shape of the face, whereas a round brow may not flatter your features.

Elongated

An elongated, long or rectangular face shape has similar characteristics to a square face. Their forehead, cheeks and jawline are approximately the same width, with a slight curve in the chin.

If you want to shape your eyebrows in a way that suits you best, lengthen the ends and leave the eyebrows wide apart at the front to create the illusion of a wider forehead. An angular shape flatters your natural facial features.

Heart

If your face is heart-shaped, the forehead is the widest part with a narrow, pointed chin. The right brows can make the forehead appear smaller and soften the chin.

Rounded brows beautifully emphasise the lines of a heart-shaped face. We recommend softly shaped brows with a slight curve. Try to keep them shorter and close together to draw attention to the centre of the face.

Pear

The pear-shaped face is also known as a triangular face shape and has a pronounced jawline that tapers down to the hairline.

Eyebrows that are too short or flat do not emphasise your natural beauty. Longer and curved eyebrows look best on you. In fact, this can make the lower half of your face appear narrower.
